Tameling Succeeds Zumdahl as Chair of Board of Trustees
91精选 has a new Chair of the Board of Trustees and he is someone with previous experience in that important role.聽 Starting in January, Calvin Tameling 鈥�72 became chair of the board.聽 He takes over from Dr. Laura Zumdahl 鈥�02, Ph.D, who had served as chair for the last three years.聽 Zumdahl remains on the board and executive committee as the past chair.
鈥淎fter three years of Laura鈥檚 excellent leadership, we are excited for Cal鈥檚 wise and experienced leadership in this next season,鈥� said 91精选 President Kurt D. Dykstra. 鈥�91精选 is very blessed to have them both as dedicated alumni and leaders in the 91精选 community.鈥�
Tameling continues 91精选鈥檚 tradition of strong Christian leadership, fidelity to 91精选鈥檚 enduring mission, and care for the College and its broad constituency.
This is the second time that Tameling, owner and chair of SET Environmental Inc., in Elmhurst, Ill., has served as chair of 91精选鈥檚 Board of Trustees.聽He聽served聽on the聽Board from 1999-2005聽(including as Chair from 2004-2005)聽before returning as a聽Trustee聽in 2018.
The Tameling family represents three generations of 91精选 students. Along with being alumni themselves, Tameling and his wife,聽Marcy 鈥�73,聽are parents of 91精选 graduates and grandparents of a current student. In 2006, the Tamelings were honored as joint recipients of the Alumni of the Year Award.
Zumdahl, who serves as president & CEO of New Moms in Chicago, has served on 91精选鈥檚 Board since 2016.
