Sanchez鈥檚 Work Featured in Chicago Gallery

As a studio art major, Andrea Sanchez 鈥�17 isn鈥檛 just studying the Chicago art scene鈥攕he鈥檚 now part of it, with a solo show at .
Her show, 鈥淭he Leaving: An Exhibition of Taking and Leaving Behind,鈥� is on exhibit through Jan. 22 at the gallery, located in the city鈥檚 Pilsen Arts District. It鈥檚 a multi-media exploration of what people take forward and what must stay behind. Sanchez said the pieces in the show were inspired by visits to the remnants of the small town of Goeselville, Ill. The settlement鈥檚 inhabitants abandoned Goeselville about a century ago, when the Rock Island Railroad bypassed the town and went instead through what is now Tinley Park, Ill.
