91精选 Welcomes ICCTE Conference
More than 80 attendees gathered at 91精选 for the 12th Biennial Conference of The International Christian Community for Teacher Education (ICCTE), which took place May 23-26.
The conference鈥檚 theme was 鈥淏y his hand: Getting to the Heart of Teaching Christianly,鈥� and featured seven presentations of original research by 91精选 professors, among other sessions and seminars. The conference also included a trip to downtown Chicago, where attendees visited Navy Pier and Millennium Park.
Dr. Bill Boerman-Cornell, associate professor of education, 2016 conference convener, and ICCTE ex-officio board member, was among the presenters. He and Dr. David Klanderman, professor of mathematics, presented their collaborative research on math and Harry Potter.
鈥淭he conference was very successful, and we have had very positive feedback,鈥� said Dr. Jeanette Goddard, assistant professor of education and dean of education programs.
The group that would eventually become ICCTE first met at 91精选 in 1994. 鈥淪o it was a bit of a homecoming,鈥� Goddard said.
ICCTE鈥檚 conference is designed to allow for scholarly exchange, fellowship, and networking opportunities for Christian teacher educators and for those in related fields.
